  1. Our family thinks the website is a wonderful idea. It is also used by Chloe's grandparents who live far away and now get to see Chloe's classroom and what she has been up to in the classroom etc. Thanks for all the extra effort it must take to upload all the work and pictures. Our family checks on it weekly at least.

  2. Thank you for taking the time to post the work, as well as upcoming events, and useful information. Jake and I check out the blog on a daily basis. He like that I'm able to see what he's doing in class. And we also have family overseas that are able to check out what he's doing, as well as see his classroom. Well done!

  3. I would be lost without this blog. I'm always so busy dropping Oliver off in the mornings and have to leave quickly in the afternoons, I have really found this form of communication really helpful.

I am always on the computer for studies these days so it's perfect.

I find that I can keep up-to-date with the class activities and events which are about to take place, eg. show & tell, etc.

My husband who is at work really enjoys seeing what Oliver's class is up to.

So thanks for doing it as it would be time consuming. Really REALLY appreciate it!

I hope Oliver has blogs in future class years to come as it's set a good precedence.

  4. This is a fantastic idea. Noah's older sister and grandmother live interstate, it gives them the opportunity to be involved in his day to day activites. Also lets me know what events are coming up.
    Absolutely love it!

  8. I love your classroom blog! I am studying to be a teacher, and will definitely be setting up my own classroom blog once i am out there teaching! I also have kids at Banksia and would love to see their classes have something similar, which also allows for communication via email. Congrats!

  10. Hi 1C, My name is Keri and I teach New Entrants (5 year olds) in Manurewa, Auckland, New Zealand. I discovered your blog from a friends blog list. I am going to share what you are up to with my class tomorrow. I like your literacy and numeracy games on your sidebar. I think we'll have to give some of them a go.

  15. Hi Keri and Jacqui

I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else is interested in creating individual pages on their blogs. Each student literally has their own blog.

In Dashboard, click "Create a blog". Name your new blog (first students name) and go through the steps to create. Once this has been created add a 'Link list' gadget to your original class blog page. Copy the students web address and add to link list. Continue with each students name. I would recommend adding students to link list as you create each blog. It is quite time consuming to set up but well worth it.

Let me know if you have any problems.

    Cheers
    Jess
