Today in math rotations we baked! Students were given a recipe and had to double it before we made the slice. We talked a lot about equivalent fractions! And they're very impressed that they've made their for morning tea for tomorrow.
8:50am bell
I'm so impressed with those students who know how to start their morning the right way. Reward cards 'punched' to those students who are organized, mental maths book open and on track by the 8:50am bell!

Yesterday we had a class brainstorm (Y chart) to get the ideas flowing. Students came up with ways to describe an Olympian before their big race. Following this, students spent 25 minutes writing. During this time, students were given small amounts of feedback to guide their writing. It was wonderful to read the descriptive pieces and I look forward to sharing some with you.

Rowan Of Rin
I can't wait until we start reading Rowan of Rin again. I think it is probably my favourite book we have read this year. By the way Mrs Thorburn and Mrs Bluhdorn have really good expression. I am going to work my butt off to be as good as them. This is the best unit so far in English. I can't wait until we get to the part where he goes on a quest. The book is about a village called Rin and the water is not flowing. Rowan has to go on a quest up the mountain. That's all I know at the moment.
