Term 1 Timetable

Assembly

This year Grade 4 assembly will be held every Tuesday from 2:30 - 3:00pm.

Arrival and Dismissal at School

Our school day begins at 8:50am and ends at 3:00pm. Ideally children should not arrive at school prior to 8:30am. Children who arrive before 8:30am are to wait at the tuckshop, which is monitored by a teacher. At the 8:30am bell children are able to go to their classroom.  The classroom and its surroundings are out of bounds before school. Students not in the room by 9:00am are late and will need to report to the office for a late slip.

All playgrounds are out of bounds before and after school. This is a yellow slip offence.

Attendance

Your child's regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial to his/her success.  I can't emphasise this enough! A lot of our learning activities are group oriented and involve interaction with classmates. Therefore, it is next to impossible to make up this work at home. Please view school as a priority, and see to it that your child attends everyday except in cases of illness or emergency.

Birthdays

Please feel free to send in a treat to celebrate your child's birthday.

Brain Break

Each day we will have a short brain break during class time. The students only have a brief period to eat their snack. Please do not send whole oranges (there is not time to peel and cut these during class time). During this time students are only permitted to eat fruit / vegetables / cheese (no biscuits) / fruit yoghurt (no yogo).

Classroom Visitors

We are happy to have parents visit our classroom to see how we learn. Please send a note the day before your intended visit giving the time you plan to come.  Sometimes there are scheduling conflicts that may make it necessary to reschedule. Remember to stop by the office and sign in as a visitor.

Drinks

Your child may bring a water bottle to keep at his/her desk. They will not be permitted to have cordial / juice / milk during class time.

Homework

Your child will have homework Monday to Thursday.  All homework is sent home on Friday and it should be returned on Thursday.

Late Arrivals

Students should be at school by 9:00am at the latest. If a student arrives after this time, they need to report to the office prior to coming to the classroom.

Money

Money is rarely collected in the classroom.  This is only for free dress days etc.

All other occasions, money either needs to be taken to the Cash Payment window at the office (open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from (8:30-9:00am)  or the tuckshop (food related e.g. sausage sizzle).

Tuckshop

The canteen is open Monday to Friday. When ordering tuckshop be sure to use separate bags for first and second break orders.
